My First Post In Django

Hurrah! This is my first post with django. I think my site rules, so I'm happy.

The commenting system is based on personal approval now, as my pyblosxom homepage just about blew up when spam commenters were going faster than I could delete them. I don't mind so much now for spam as it will never show up in the first place.

Well, it's getting closer to the new semester, and things need to change. I did not do well enough this past semester for my personal goals, or my parent's goals for that matter. I'm going to become religious about using Getting Things Done. I also plan to make my progress obvious. I'm going to do weekly reviews that start with me calculating my current grade for each class. This may or may not be publicly available, but it will at least be available to those that could motivate me to do better ( parents, significant others, friends who are overbearing ). This plan has to work. I'm calling this my last chance to succeed.

This site is the personal web space of Jeff Mickey. Here you find his personal musings on many topics, but mostly geeky ones.

Jeff... Nice to see you breathed life into a Django implementation of the site... I'll have to compare notes with you at some point to see if you have any good pointers and pitfalls to mention in setting things up... I had too much going on at OSU to mess with my django project much lately, but hope to get back to it soon... in any case, have a good one... congrats again on getting the site up!

Glad to hear you are running Django. One thing to be aware of is if you go on vacation for a few months -- the spam, while not displayed, adds up in the user interface. I guess you may eventually want to just drop it instead of marking it for approval (if that is what you are doing).

Scott Z: You go to OSU? Like, Oregon State University? or Ohio State? I went to PSU.
